FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Operation Santa Claus may not come this year.

Funds coming in slow, no money means no presents for our most needy individuals.

11/23/2004 -- By this time last year the Mental Health Association had over $1000.00 in the bank ready to buy some holiday cheer for the individuals that live in group homes, live in state mental health facilities and those living independently but have a case manager with the Sandhills Mental Health Center, Randolph Services.  This year to date we have less than $250.00 and Christmas will be here before you know it.

If anyone is considering donating to a worthy cause, please consider Operation Santa Claus.  Don't let this year go by and not contribute in some way.  There are several different ways folks can help.

  1. Adopt an individual.-  We will send to you a wish list form that the individual has completed, and you go and purchase the items and bring them here to our office, by December 10th at 3:00 PM
  2. Bring in general items.-  Some items that our individuals wish for are, Walkman Radios, CD players, electric razors, Gospel CDs, Videos (Comedy), watches (men & women), gift certificates from restaurants and toiletry items.
  3. Give a tax deductible donation to the Mental Health Association and designate to Operation Santa Claus.
  4. Send in a Wal-mart gift card, or phone cards.
